Balloons supporting professionals across all sectors...

Balloons trains and support professionals across all sectors who encounter situations where children and young people are experiencing the death or terminal illness of someone important in their lives.

Balloons can deliver tailor-made training for such diverse groups as schools, carers of children in care, Health Care Teams, Social Care, Palliative Care staff, Police, Chaplaincy, Nurse Training Institutions, Funeral Directors, Probation Services and Youth Offending Teams.

The Balloons training provides professionals, who are working with children and young people, the opportunity to explore and address the needs of those coping with pre- or post-bereavement. This helps professionals feel more confident when supporting bereaved children and young people and their parents/carers. The different courses also include support in recognising the particular needs of individual children and young people in different settings, and guidance about where to go for additional help.

Balloons also hosts conferences for training and networking purposes. The next conference will be for professionals working with children and young people, and it will take place in April 2011. Please watch the website for details of this event and for future training dates.
